2006 ALL BIG-EAST SECOND TEAM
2006 Season (Freshman):
• Named a Louisville Slugger Freshman
All-American by Collegiate Baseball.
• A second team All-BIG EAST
selection.
• Tied for first in the BIG EAST with nine victories, while
holding the top spot with 101.0 innings pitched.
• Broke the school record
for wins by a freshman, eclipsing Bruce Raible's mark of seven, set in 1968.
• Named BIG EAST Pitcher of the Week after a five-hit shutout at Louisville
(4/28) and again after a three-hit shutout of St. John's (5/18).
• Also
pitched complete game against Georgetown (4/21).
• Had stretch of 17.2
innings without allowing a run.
• Was at best during BIG EAST play, holding
a 6-2 record and a 3.90 ERA.
• Struck out career-high six against Georgetown
and St. John's.
• Tied for third on UC single season wins list.
• Led
team with 68 strikeouts.
• Earned first career win at High Point (2/24)
after allowing just one run and five hits in five innings of work.
• Was a
perfect 5-0 with a 2.92 ERA during the month of April.
High School: Varsity baseball member from eighth grade through senior
year at Lawrence County High ... earned first team all-conference and all-area
honors all five years ... named area player of the year as a senior ... named
one of the top-50 juniors by Street and Smith ... held a career record of
32-7 with a 1.02 ERA and 270 strikeouts ... hit .415 with 210 RBI as a prep.
