Tulane and ISP Sports, the Green Wave's media rights holder, have reportedly decided to hand
football play-by-play duties to Todd Graffagnini. An announcement is expected shortly.
Graffagnini replaces Larry Matson, a veteran broadcaster who also handled play-by-play for
Tulane in the '70's and '80's.
A graduate of Loyola, Graffagnini has handled play-by-play duties for Tulane baseball for
sixteen seasons, provided sideline commentary for all Tulane football games and served
at times in the past as the play-by-play voice of Tulane women's basketball. He also served
a stint as the studio host for the New Orleans' Hornets game broadcasts.
International Sports Properties is the owner of Tulane's broadcast and marketing rights
for all Green Wave sports. In addition, ISP produces and distributes game broadcasts and
coaches' radio and television shows.
ISP also holds the rights to market print advertising in Tulane athletic publications
and on the official athletic department website, as well as the right to sell all signage in
the university's athletic facilities. In exchange for it's media rights, the university is guaranteed an annual rights fee and receives a share of advertising revenue.
Tulane football broadcasts are carried in the New Orleans area on flagship station WIST-AM
(690). In addition to the flagship station, the Tulane football network consists of KDBS-AM
(1410) of Alexandria; WSKR-AM (1210) of Baton Rouge; WJSH-FM (104.7) of Folsom; KROF-AM (960) of Lafayette; KXZZ-AM (1580) of Lake Charles;
KRMD-AM (1340) of Shreveport; and KMBS-AM (1310) of West Monroe.
The Wave will open the regular season with a game against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Saturday, Sept. 8, kick off time is 6 p.m.
