The Herd lands Ohio Lineman

Chad Schofield

The "Buckeye State" is loaded with lineman this season, now the Thundering Herd has dipped into the deep pool of talent and pulled out a lineman of their own.

Another Ohio lineman is now off the board, Strongsville (Ohio.) offensive lineman Chad Schofield (6-3, 322, 5.3) has committed to Marshall over an offer from Miami (Ohio.)

"I called coach Gobell and coach Snyder up and said that I wanted to be part of the Herd," Schofield said. "Marshall was just the right place for me. I like the people there, the coaching staff and the city. Huntington is on the rise and is growing everyday and I want to be a part of it.

Schofield participated in the U.S. Army All-American Comine in January, at the Alamomdome in San Antonio, Texas. He also had received a verbal offer from Pittsburgh.

Schofield is the second known commit for the Marshall class of 2006, joining Trevor Marcum. Recommended Stories
