Marshall Offers JUCO OL

Marshall Offers JUCO OL

Going into the 2015 football season, Marshall will once again be on the look out for bodies to play along the offensive front. Marshall is set to lose a center and a guard to graduation, leaving just a handful of proven talent behind them when they depart. Marshall is already on the hunt of players who could step in and play right away for the 2015 season.

One such player is JUCO offensive guard, Danta Cattaneo. Cattaneo is a lineman from Santa Rosa. Cattaneo originally committed last year to San Jose State. However, San Jose pulled the offer when they realized Cattaneo could not enroll for the spring, 2014 season. Cattaneo then reopened his recruitment.

Herdhaven.com caught up with Cattaneo last month to discuss his recruitment and at that time, due to a minor injury, he was going to hold off any visits until March. That is still the case for Cattaneo at this time, however, he is going to stay enrolled in Santa Rosa, and sign with his new team and enroll next January.

Cattaneo is being recruited heavily by Marshall, and its offensive line coach, Alex Mirabel. Cattaneo now has an offer from Marshall to be a part of its class of 2015.

Cattaneo says, "I am very interested in Marshall. I have been contacted by a few other schools, but Marshall is the school that I am considering the most."

Marshall loses center Chris Jasperse, who can also play guard, and fellow senior Blake Brooks from the interior line next year. Although Cattaneo is a guard, "I am a guard, but I will play anything along the offensive line though. I just can't wait to get back into a football uniform."

Cattaneo would have two years to play at the school of his choice. He is currently unranked by scout.com. Cattaneo is 6'4", and 285 pounds.
