Catching Up With a Herd Commit

Marshall loses multiple wide receivers this off season due to players utilizing all of their eligibility. The Herd coaching staff continues to pursue athletes to come in and fill those depth chart spots, and starting spots.

Marshall will lose senior Penn State transfers, Shawney Kersey and Devon Smith. Marshall also loses senior Demetrius Evans.

I spoke recently to Reese Wooten who committed to the Herd earlier this summer. Wooten is a 6'2", 170 pound wide out from Cairo, Georgia.

Wooten's lead recruiter was Todd Hartley. Hartley has been all over the state of Georgia recently pulling in athletes from multiple positions. Wooten is fully committed, but has yet to visit campus as of yet, but according to Wooten, he is ready for a visit.

Wooten runs, " a legit 4.3, forty." Last year, Wooten ended the season with 8 touchdown catches. He also had two interceptions and returned one for a touchdown. Wooten will play wide receiver at the next level.

Wooten is currently rated two stars by Scout.com heading into his senior season.
